Windows Vista Advisory |
Special Note for Windows Vista Users In June of 2008 we acquired a new notebook computer running Windows Vista (SP 1) and installed Formulate2 without setting folder permissions. The program has performed well without any issues. However, a small number of users have experienced difficulties which have been resolved successfully by setting folder permissions. These issues appear to be related to how recently a given Windows Vista installation has been updated. If you are running Windows Vista it may be necessary to set folder permissions on Formulate2’s two data folders in order for the program to reliably and consistently obtain access to its data. Setting permissions is a fast, simple process and the link below provides easy to follow instructions about how to locate the folders, what permissions to set and how to set them. Where and How to set Folder Permissions In our initial testing with Windows Vista, when it was first released, Formulate2 ran fine without setting folder permissions. However, since it was released, the Vista operating has been updated frequently with internet patches. Therefore we are currently advising that, if you are running Formulate2 on Windows Vista, folder permissions should be set on Formulate2 data folders as a precautionary measure. |
