Re-indexing Databases |
Overview All access to ration and feed records is made using index entries. If indexes are some how damaged and become unreadable due to power outages or other unforeseen circumstances, records cannot be retrieved and you will not be able to access your formulation data. If such a scenario occurs, Formulate2 has the capability to re-build indexes directly from it's tables. Of course the tables must be intact. If the problem that damaged the index has also corrupted the table, your only recourse will be your back ups. It's also important to understand that the sort of unforeseen circumstances that can create the need for re-indexing tables can also corrupt the re-indexing process itself. The bottom line is that you should NEVER be without back ups of you formulation data. Here's What You Do ... To re-index your data tables, if you are viewing the feed or ration record form, open the Other menu and select "Maintenance & Registration".
From the Maintenance Utilities form shown below, open the Files menu and select and click on Reindex Files.
When you click on Reindex Files the advisory message will be displayed.
You will then be asked to confirm the re-index operation.
Formulate2 reports the progress of the process ...
... and informs you when it is completed.
